Theme & Objective

Moon in the sky always lights in harmony near us. It is like the window of light we look at and sometimes gives us peace of mind. So the peaceful mind is much like the moon. The word ‘door’ symbolizes the meaning of the heart and is pronounced as moon in Korean. Starting MOON project, based on the association between this concept and the words, we intended to create beautiful and friendly designs that can naturally penetrate into various cultures around the world.

하늘의 달은 항상 우리 곁에서 조화롭게 밝혀줍니다. 달은 우리가 바라보는 빛의 창과 같고 때로는 우리에게 마음의 평화를 주기도 합니다. 그래서 평온한 마음은 달에 비유되기도 합니다. 문(門)은 마음을 상징하며 ‘moon’과 흡사한 소리로 발음됩니다. MOON 프로젝트를 시작하면서 이러한 개념과 단어의 연관성을 바탕으로 세계 다양한 문화 속에 자연스럽게 스며들 수 있는 아름답고 친근한 디자인을 의도하였습니다.

Process

The overall shape and composition of the mobile are determined by design research and experience. The parts of the mobile are assembled by hand carefully one by one so as not to impair the balance. With the exquisite balance, the mobile moves continuously by gravity, air and wind, creating an elegant and comfortable accent in the space.

모빌의 전반적인 형태와 구성은 디자인 연구 및 경험을 통해 결정됩니다. 모빌의 부품은 균형을 손상시키지 않도록 손으로 하나씩 조심스럽게 조립됩니다. 절묘한 균형으로 연결된 모빌은 중력과 약간의 바람으로 계속 움직이며 공간에서 우아하고 편안한 액센트가 됩니다.

Material

Hanji is not only aesthetically pleasing, but also an eco-friendly material. It is made of mulberry fiber, which is durable and conservative. Materials such as brass, wood, plaster, and acryl are used in combination with Hanji to create modern and unique feelings, and enhance durability and formability.

한지소재는 미적으로 훌륭할 뿐만 아니라 자연재료이며, 내구성과 보존성이 강한 닥나무 섬유로 구성되어 있습니다. 황동, 목재, 석고, 아크릴과 같은 재료는 한지와 함께 혼합되어 현대적이고 고유한 감각이 표현되며 내구성과 가공성을 향상시킵니다.
